Friday Night Live Mentoring in Mariposa
The primary focus of the FNL Mentoring program is to form partnerships between high school "mentors" and middle school "protégés". This partnership provides activities rich in opportunities that build relationships and self esteem.
Throughout the school year the youth are engaged in curriculum that promotes healthy life styles free of alcohol, tobacco or other substance abuse among youth. High school “mentors” become positive role models and middle school “protégés” become prepared for the challenges of high school.
The youth are involved in developing an educational campaign that targets AOD (alcohol and other drugs) Prevention in the schools and community. They identify the problems, research and make presentations aimed at AOD Prevention.
